90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The gamay vines that go into the Lafarges’ Cuvée Exception are now fully ninety-five years of age. The wine has turned out beautifully in the 2023 vintage, displaying a deep and vibrant bouquet of cherries, sweet cranberries, gamebird, a touch of nutskin, lovely soil tones and topnote of bonfire. On the palate ht wine is deep, full-bodied and tangy, with a great core of red fruit, fine soil inflection, modest tannins and a long, tangy, complex and lifted finish. Fine juice that would make a great “ringer” in a flight of 2023 Cru Beaujolais at a tasting a decade down the road! 2027-2040. (Jan/Feb 2025)"
