94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The deeply-coloured wine from the old vines in the Lafarge parcel boasts a ripe plummy fruit in 2022, yet there is a saline mineral side and a hint of savoury, gamey complexity. This delicious wine has a nervy tension and the density and length to age nicely in the cellar. The grapes come from the three-quarters of a hectare planted relatively high on the slope – some are 70 years of age; they are destemmed and gently fermented to produce this exquisite wine. Drinking Window: 2027-2055. (11/2/23)"

93 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2024).

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Medium deep crimson. A fresh pinot nose, not too intense. A mid to dark raspberry fruit on the palate albeit with a certain crispness, a little wood at the back, but a complete and once again harmonious – my Lafarge word for the vintage – finish. (Dec 2023)"

90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots is pretty and fine-boned, offering up aromas of cherries, petals, orange zest and raw cocoa, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and lively palate. (1/28/24)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru, which was the last cuvée to be racked, has a bright nose with dark cherries, raspberry and light sous-bois aromas that will knit together during the rest of its élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, perhaps just a tad unsettled post-racking. Still, there is impressive concentration, backbone, and firm grip on the finish with a sapid aftertaste. Cellar this for 4-5 years to smooth down its edges. Drink: 2027-2047. (Jan 2024)"

90-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "As befits the elevated position of Aigrots, this is quite airy, cool and elegant with its array of both red and dark cherry, subtle floral nuances and a touch of wet stone character. The beautifully textured and tension filled middleweight flavors flash evident minerality on the lightly austere and balanced finish. This does though need to develop better depth so at least a few years of cellaring should prove beneficial. Drink: 2030+. (Apr 2024)"
