94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "An eloquent wine, with an evocative plummy fruit underscored with mineral, silky tannins and a lingering, subtle finish. Lafarge owns a hectare in the Clos des Aigrots, planted one-quarter to white and three to Pinot in the red clay soils here. Some of the vines are more than 70 years of age. In 2020, the ripe fruit was destemmed and carefully fermented before ageing mostly in used casks. Drinking Window: 2025-2040. (11/10/21)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots soars from the glass with aromas of wild berries, sweet spices, loamy soil and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, vibrant and intense, it's a deep, concentrated wine framed by velvety tannins and tangy acids. This will be very long lived. (1/20/22)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has an airy bouquet, very transparent with redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit, the 15% new oak nearly integrated. Very minerally. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins. This is a strict and mineral driven Beaune, very tensile but with ample weight and concentration on the finish. Excellent. Drink: 2025-2045. (Dec 2021)"

91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Glowing purple with a magically refined nose, showing a bit of hillside but with plenty of ripe fruit on the bones. Significant weight on the plate, a touch more austerity at the finish, more red fruit than black, very fine indeed. (Oct 2021)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Both the Clos des Aigrots Blanc and Rouge have been such fine additions to the Lafarge lineup since they arrived, and the 2020 rouge is destined to be one of the finest vintages yet for this lovely bottling. The bouquet is bright, pure and already marvelously expressive, offering up notes of black cherries, red plums, pigeon, chalky soil tones, woodsmoke, raw cocoa and a nice touch of vanillin oak. on the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, suave and sappy at the core, with excellent soil inflection, ripe, buried tannins, good acids and a very long, balanced and complex finish. Great Beaune in the making. 2033-2085. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
