99 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "With a depth of color from the rim to the center of the glass, this is all about the incredibly ripe, dark red fruits, soft, but strong tannins and the layers of fruit that seem to start and have a hard time stopping. The finish hangs in there for over 40 seconds! The wine is rich, full bodied and concentrated, yet it's elegant, powerful and graceful. Everything is in balance and harmony here. This will easily age for 3, 4, 5 or 6 decades. (May 2018)"
98 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The deep garnet-purple colored 2015 La Mission Haut-Brion is a blend of 58% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. Youthfully mute with bright, youthful red currants, black raspberries, cassis and freshly crushed blackberries notions, it slowly unfurls to reveal an earthy/minerally undercurrent of damp soil, charcoal, iron ore and truffles plus a waft of violets. Medium to full-bodied, decadently fruited and yet wonderfully elegant with very ripe, very silky tannins, freshness that sits well in the background and an almost electric intensity of vibrant red and black fruit flavors, it finishes long and minerally. Just. Beautiful. Consider giving it 6-7 years in bottle before broaching and drink it over the next 30+. Drink: 2024-2055. (2/21/18)"
98 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2015 La Mission Haut-Brion is blessed with an outstanding bouquet of brilliantly focused and delineated black fruit laced with graphite and cedar - pure class. The medium-bodied, harmonious palate delivers fine-grained tannin and impressive depth. There is a slight savory element (just like the Haut-Brion) that infuses the middle, and brown spices and sage linger on the finish. This is a profound La Mission Haut-Brion that dares surpass Haut-Brion on this showing. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting. (Jul 2019)"
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More opulent, sexy and concentrated, the 2015 La Mission Haut Brion is a tour de force that has everything you could want from Bordeaux. A huge nose of smoke tobacco, gravelly earth, graphite, cassis, and blackcurrants gives way to a full-bodied, concentrated, perfectly balanced beauty that has incredible depth of flavor and intensity, yet with no weight. While the overall impression is upfront and in your face, it has incredible elegance and length on the finish (as well as ripe tannin), and will keep for three decades. Drink: 2018-2048. (11/30/17)"
98 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "Made from 58% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 La Mission Haut-Brion is deep garnet in color. It comes spilling out of the glass with gregarious scents of baked black and red cherries, warm cassis, and pencil shavings, leading to hints of crushed rocks, Indian spices, and potpourri. The full-bodied palate is beautifully poised, with loads of mineral and exotic spice accents to the core of black fruit preserves, framed by beautifully plush, rounded tannins, finishing long and fragrant. This is gorgeous! Alcohol 15%. Drink: 2024-2055. (11/17/22)"
97 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The élevage here was in oak barrels for 16 months, using 78% new wood. A very elegant floral perfume to the nose here, with some very fine black cherry and blackcurrant notes, crisply defined, with a cherry-blossom and white-flower lift, and a little scented peony too. The palate just oozes class, being polished and harmonious, really quite seamless, substantial and yet well reined in, the tannins ripe and nicely concealed within the substance of the wine. They just peep out at the finish, looking tightly grained, rich, hugely impressive, giving it a fabulous grip here, and it feels minerally in style too. An excellent wine, which is simply streets ahead of La Chapelle, the second wine. (May 2018)"
