This is remarkably deep, intense and complex and doubtlessly a real character and on grand cru level. Silky, intense and refined on the palate, this is a substantial, very elegant and balanced Pinot with power and intensity yet also purity, finesse and delicate, even juicy tannins. Gunter Künstler's 2022 Höllenberg develops a long, fresh and aromatic finish with sour cherry and much less cassis flavors than are usually found in wines from this famous red wine cru that raises straight from the right bank of the Rhine River. The wine is long and aromatic, still fine, fresh and with a stimulating aftertaste. It is still very young but already a pleasure, and it indicates great potential.
