95 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Vinous): "The 2023 Riesling Niersteiner Ölberg Grosses Gewächs comes from vines that were planted in 1991. Reduction crackles with much promise on the nose. Underneath that, citrus foliage, crushed tansy and wet stone shine. That savor pervades the palate, tingling, flowing, fluid and smooth but exquisitely sleek and slender. This is taut, dynamic and savory, utterly enticing with its nuances of green and orange citrus zest. (Bone-dry) Drink: 2028-2050. (Oct 2024)"
93+ points Ulrich Sautter (Falstaff): "The Ölberg doesn't come across as too well-behaved thanks to a neat reduction note, but it remains a classic with apricot and peach. Soft texture on the palate, broken up by the fine salinity of the minerality, refined phenolics, the supple side of the Roter Hang. Alcohol 12.5%. (11/11/24)"
93 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 Nierstein Ölberg GG is clear, intense and pure on the nose that is also utterly mineral and reminiscent of crushed and weathered clayey red slate. Rather smooth in texture but subtly savory and with fine tannins, this is a rich and textural Riesling from the famous red slope. It's not oily, like the vineyard name suggests, but almost. This wine is very elegant and smooth, rather quiet but with a crunchy, long and pretty exciting finish. 12.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024. Drink: 2024-2040. (10/31/24)"
