97+ points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Krug's just-released 1990 Collection is magnificent. Remarkably fresh for a 26 year-old wine, the 1990 Collection captures the Krug house style at its very best. Floral notes meld into hints of apricot, chamomile, orchard fruit, vanillin and sweet spices. On the palate, the 1990 is creamy, vivid and super-expressive, but what is most intriguing is how fresh the Collection is relative to Vintage Champagne, which has always been a heavier, more oxidative wine. Readers who can find the 1990 should not hesitate, as it is stellar. Drink: 2016-2031. (Dec 2016)"
97 points Richard Juhlin (The Champagne Club) (Jan 2022).
96 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(tasted in 2024 in Australia; Krug vintage held on lees in the cellar and reincarnated as Collection; 40% pinot noir, 37% chardonnay, 23% meunier; ID 215026 hence disgorged spring 2015). A full gold hue heralds a fully mature old Krug filled with bountiful layers of secondary and tertiary complexity. Marmalade, fig, candle wax, pipe smoke, glacé apricot, mocha and preserved lemon all abound. The palate is energised by an energetic spine of malic acidity that carries long and strong. Fruit ripeness defines a succulent and glossy mouth feel, layered with the creaminess of barrel fermentation and almost a quarter century of lees age. Only a fine bead remains at this age and it has now attained its pinnacle. (2024)"
