96 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "Picking favorites from the long and lengthening lists of single-site bottlings that so many top-tier Pinot producers now offer is never an easy task, especially when faced with the embarrassment of riches that is the 2013 Kosta Browne lot. That said, this stunning effort from the Kanzler Vineyard certainly vies for top honors by dint of its fruity depth, its lovely balance and its uncommon marriage of richness and grace. And, please do not think that its tailoring and finesse prescribes early drinking for it cannot but get better and grow even more complex over the next five or six years. (Oct 2015)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "Shows wonderful depth, richness, balance and complexity, with enticing aromas and an array of blackberry, raspberry, licorice, fresh-turned earth and crushed rock flavors, ending smooth. The tannins exhibit nice grip at the very end. 665 cases made. (8/31/15)"

94 points PinotReport: "Medium-deep ruby color; deep, bright, wild berry, pomegranate and spicy plum aromas; deep, rich, spicy raspberry, cherry and pomegranate flavors with cinnamon and clove notes; silky texture; good structure and balance; long finish. Very complex, silky and dark Pinot with layers of flavor; this is really worth waiting for both in terms of bottle age and air in the glass. 665 cases made. (9/15/15)"

'Very Highly Recommended'/93 points California Grapevine: "Medium-light to medium ruby; attractive, forward, fragrant, spicy, raspberry and cherry fruit aroma with earthy notes and hints of clove and forest floor; medium-full body; forward, concentrated, deep red fruit flavors with firm structure, bright acidity, and a rich, fleshy mouthfeel medium to medium-full tannin; lingering aftertaste. 14.5% alcohol; 665 cases; to be released Fall 2015. (Sep 2015)"

Producer notes: "Aromatics: Richly concentrated blackberry and raspberry fruit accented by violets. A subtle and pleasing minerality helps to complement the lush briary fruit. On the Palate: An abundance of black currant and wild berries. The opulent berry flavor drenches the palate. The middle softens to fig and sea-salted caramel, with restrained spice, intermingling to provide a long and decadent finish. 92% de-stemmed, 8% whole cluster. Barrel aged 16 months in French oak (39% new). 14.5% alcohol."
