94 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "Aged 19 months in 70% new, mostly Austrian oak, the 2017 Chardonnay Bootlegger's Hill has an inviting nose of honeycomb, baked quince, candied peaches, lilac and roasted hazelnuts with accents of dried hay, stone, pastry crust, baked apples and a classy framing of new oak spices. It's medium to full-bodied, rounded and silky in texture with intense flavor layers split between tangy acidity and savory honey-nut character, finishing very long. This is beautiful! 225 cases produced, to be released in the summer of 2020. Drink: 2020-2032. (Dec 2019)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "[$200 list] Well-structured, with a fresh juiciness to the concentrated, mineral-driven flavors of freshly cut green apple and lemon-lime. Hints of egg custard show on the spicy finish. Drink now through 2025. 225 cases made. (8/31/20)"
