96 points Virginie Boone (JebDunnuck.com): "The 2021 Chardonnay Cerise Vineyard opens with impressive Burgundian-like aromatics that lead the way to a gorgeously expressive exploration of green apple, pear, honeycomb, and baking spice with a supple, velvety texture and intensity. Cerise is an estate site planted on steep hillsides between 600 and 1,600 feet, with Chardonnay all Wente clone. Winemaker Julien Howsepian 100% whole-cluster presses the grapes, which ferment entirely in barrel for nearly a year. The wine is a knockout and has plenty of life to age through 2041. (2/21/25)"

95 points Clive Pursehouse (Decanter): "A stunning wine from old Wente Clone Chardonnay planted high above the Anderson Valley in this site, a Kosta Browne estate vineyard, long made famous by Littorai's Ted Lemon. This wine is all whole cluster pressed and 100% barrel fermented. It spends 11 months in just over 50% new French oak. Gorgeously rich with lemon cream and savoury piques of mint wild herbs with whisps of sea spray. The palate is creamy and wonderfully textured. Beautiful minerality frames a delightful set of deep citrus and white peach flavours. (Drink: 2024-2037. (9/22/24)"

94 points Jim Gordon (JamesSuckling.com): "This full-bodied wine offers rich, smoky, toasty aromas and very ripe, robust fruit flavors. Butterscotch, marzipan, charred bread, poached pear and walnut flavors on a creamy texture. It's ripe and almost sweet. Concentrated and deep. Drink now or hold. (11/8/24)"

93 points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "[$225 list] Blended from the Sage Ridge and Sugarloaf Vineyards, Bevan's 2021 The Curmudgeon Proprietary Red is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Cabernet Franc this year. On the nose, it offers up plenty of ripe cherries and a touch of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, it's taut, silky and fine, without the weight and richness of Bevan's more hedonistic efforts. Drink: 2024-2035. (7/3/24)"

93 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Chardonnay Cerise Vineyard is ripe and exotic. It’s scented of pineapple, meringue, yellow peach and dried jasmine with honeyed undertones. The medium-bodied palate is satiny with concentrated, mouth-coating flavors. It’s balanced by vibrant acidity, and a touch of textural grip drives a long finish. (10/10/24)"
