97 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Felix and Klaus-Peter Keller’s 2021 Morstein is a beautifully elegant and mineral-driven GG. The wine comes in at 12.5 percent alcohol this year and delivers a gorgeous aromatic constellation of sweet grapefruit, blood orange, lemon zest, wild yeasts, kaleidoscopic chalky minerality, lemongrass and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and racy, with a full-bodied and utterly seamless profile, a rock solid core, superb mineral drive and grip, precise focus and a long, complex and dancing finish. This is a puppy and needs at least a decade in the cellar to properly blossom, but it is so beautifully balanced this year that I am sure some will choose to drink it in the first blush of youth! 2032-2100. 94 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "The bittersweet perfume suggestive of iris and buddleia is utterly alluring – and of a sort that reminds me of Keller’s Grosses Gewächs from neighboring Abtserde. Along with those notes come pungent green herbal scents as well as striking marine mineral elements, at once enticingly, bracingly saline but also chalky and lightly iodine-like. The inner-mouth concentration of herbal, floral and mineral elements is implosive and allied to a vibrant sense of energy projected by zesty lime. The finish is almost severe in its penetrance, leaving one’s gums tingling, almost smarting, and saturated with flavor. Talk about a wine that needs time! Drink: 2028-2042. (Mar 2023)"
