99 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Giant stone fruit aromas, but everything remains so fine and bright. As silky and as delicate as it is concentrated, this literally takes your breath away. Such a wonderful raciness and a slatey minerality that must be tasted to be believed. Drink or hold. (11/10/22)"

97 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "Apple, lime, basil and gentian combine for an alluring and somehow – to my imagination, at least – cooling aromatic impression. Generously juicy as well as invigoratingly tart and zesty, the inner-mouth impression here contrasts in glossy texture with tinglingly bright, tongue-tickling crystalline stony as well as lightly fruit skin-chewing impingements. The long finish is already vibrant, multi-faceted and mouthwatering in its pull on one’s salivary glands. Knowing Keller’s habits, given that he served this wine to me last in his lineup of vintage 2021 Riesling Kabinetts, he clearly thinks it will be much more impressive with a few years in bottle. Drink: 2022-2048. (Mar 2023)"

95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Hipping Grosses Gewächs still had its sample label on it, so I do not have its AP number, but the wine comes in at the same 12.5 percent alcohol as the Hubacker this year. The red slate foundation of the Hipping is so beautifully presented this year in this wine, as the bouquet jumps from the glass in a vibrant blend of tart orange, apple, wild yeasts, plenty of smokiness, a very complex base of slate minerality and a topnote of lemongrass. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with seamless balance, a great girdle of acidity, a lovely core of fruit, laser-like focus and a long, complex and mineral-driven finish. This is simply a brilliant wine in the making, but it is even a tad more backward than the Hubacker this year and will need at least a dozen years to start to stir. Once it reaches cruising altitude, watch out! 2034-2100. (Sep/Oct 2022)"

18++/20 points Julia Harding, MW (JancisRobinson.com): "Basket-pressed, therefore some skin contact in the press. Cask sample. Lifted and peachy like the Hipping Kabinett. Creamy, honeyed and so inviting. There’s something a little oily and spicy here that I would not expect on such a young wine, as if the slow ripening had developed more mature aromas even before the fruit was picked. But also a smoky note of a young wine. This wine seems to take you round and round in circles, so many facets that need time to be discovered. Intensely spicy, almost sour on the palate. Powerful but not charming, demands your entire attention. Long and salty/sour in its freshness on the finish. Give this plenty of time. Drinking Window: 2028-2040. (5/21/22)"
