100 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2010 G-Max out of magnum is still a fairly young wine, but it is starting to get close to its plateau and is only a few more years away from hitting its primetime window of drinkability. The blossoming bouquet offers up a beautiful blend of tangerine, a touch of guava, pink grapefruit, a very complex base of limestone minerality, dried flowers, blood orange, lemongrass and a lovely topnote that is starting to get smoky. On the palate the wine is pure, precise and full-bodied, with stunning mid-palate depth and backend mineral drive, snappy acids and a complex, perfectly balanced and totally electric finish. Sheer brilliance. 2025-2075. (Jul/Aug 2021)"

19/20 points Michael Schmidt (JancisRobinson.com): "Tasted blind. Per aspera ad astra – nothing could more aptly describe the progression of the G-Max 2010 than this trusty Latin proverb. A cool spring and rainy August did not bode well for the prospects of dry Riesling in this vintage. But the purity and refinement of this wine show that the danger of rot and a frightening level of acidity can be out-witted by meticulous selectivity and the courage to risk the longest possible hanging time. Theory has it that high levels of moisture in the soil bring a greater supply of minerals to the vines, and the extraordinary minerality of the G-Max 2010 certainly seems to confirm this hypothesis. Nuances of ripe citrus fruit and dried herbs set subtle accents without hogging the limelight, racy acidity takes care of the dynamic dimension. A bundle of energy with taut structure promises great ageing potential. Drinking Window: 2013-2035. (1/14/18)"
