97 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "A very wide spectrum of fruit aromas pour from the glass, from Asian pear to a hint of exotic fruit, via mandarin orange. However, as it aerates, the cool, herbal side to this seriously structured, but finely etched dry riesling shows itself. Very long, dark finish that’s got so much tension. Drinkable now, but best from 2023. (2/3/22)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Hubacker is another superb young wine, and though it followed the finest young vintage of Kirchspiel I have ever tasted, it had no difficulties keeping pace. The youthful aromatic constellation delivers scents of pink grapefruit, blood orange, a dollop of wild yeasts, citrus blossoms, yellow limestone, orange peel and a cool touch of menthol in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and absolutely rock solid at the core, with lovey soil signature, bright, snappy acids, great focus and grip and a long, reserved and impeccably balanced finish. Though the Kirchspiel is more precisely detailed out of the blocks, my gut instincts are that the Hubacker may actually start to drink with generosity a year or two ahead of it. 2032-2085. (Jan/Feb 2022)"

93 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 25 21. The 2020er Hubacker Riesling, as it is referred to on the consumer label, is a bone-dry wine made only from the upper and steeper part of the vineyard. It proves initially rather restrained and needs a few minutes in the glass to reveals a quite aromatic and attractive nose of grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, white mint, and yellow flowers, all wrapped into a sea of spices. The aromatic side of the wine is also noticeable on the palate, which has great presence and even a light juicy and broad side. The finish proves hugely long and also superbly fresh thanks to an exquisite lemon-driven acidity cutting through the more aromatic side. This hugely impressive GG needs a couple of years to show all its finesse. 2027-2040. (Sep 2021)"
