97 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Roberta’s Reserve (100% Merlot) is a wild, exotic wine. Soaring aromatics meld into a core of pliant, dark-fleshed fruit. Blackberry, plum, mocha, espresso, licorice and incense are all beautifully amplified in this dramatic edition of Roberta' s. The power, intensity and textural resonance of this drought vintage come through loud and clear. Time in the glass brings out more floral and red-toned nuances to complement the wine's dynamic personality. Drink: 2027-2036. (Dec 2023)"

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2021 Roberta's Reserve is smoking good and shines for its incredible purity and finesse while bringing beautiful intensity. Ripe black cherries, darker chocolate, graphite, and hints of flowers all define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins and flawless balance. You could drink this even today, yet it's going to gain even more complexity and nuance with 4-6 years of bottle age and will shine for at least two decades. Drink: 2023-2043. (12/26/23)"

97 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 2021 Rapszodia Rosé, two-thirds Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot, is a very pale salmon pink in color. It skips out of the glass with bright cheery notes of wild strawberries, Bing cherries, and lavender giving way to suggestions of roses and raspberry leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is filled with juicy red berry flavors and floral accents, supported by a lively line and finishing with a spicy lift. 175 cases were made. Alcohol 14.2%. Drink: 2023-2025. (11/8/23)"

97 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 100% Merlot 2021 Roberta's Reserve is deep garnet-purple in color. It prances out of the glass with notes of juicy black plums, blueberry preserves, and black raspberries leading to suggestions of cinnamon toast, star anise, and dusty soil. The full-bodied palate is laden with generous black and blue fruit preserves layers, supported by a velvety texture and well-knit freshness, finishing long and spicy. 175 cases were made. Alcohol 14.5%. Drink: 2026-2048. (11/8/23)"

95+ points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "[$300 list] Kapcsandy's 2021 Roberta's Reserve State Lane Vineyard is 100% Merlot, matured in 72% new French oak, which barely registers on the nose. Hints of piney, resinous herbs accent fresh red and black cherries. It's medium to full-bodied and reasonably structured for Merlot, with ample tannin on the mid-palate married to excellent ripeness, leaving behind a dusty slick on the long-lingering finish. It actually weighs in at the same 14.5% alcohol as the 2022 but with a lower pH, making it seem fresher and more tightly wound, with ample aging potential. Drink: 2027-2045. (2/27/25)"
