95 points Jeb Dunnuck (Wine Advocate): "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon King Coal Stoneridge Vineyard is another 80/20 split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the Stoneridge Vineyard. It offers notes of black cherries, red currants, dried flowers and dried soil/sandy notes, full-bodied richness and a seamless, silky, lightly textured and elegant style. It's impeccably balanced and while already straight up delicious, is going to age gracefully. Drink 2017-2029 (Jun 2017)"

94 points/'Cellar Selection' Wine Enthusiast: "A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Syrah, the aromas draw you into the glass, with light notes of savory herb, cassis, pipe tobacco, spice and crushed rock. It brings a flat-out gorgeous sense of texture, covering the palate from end to end with cherry flavors that glide on the finish. The feel is knee-buckling. Best after 2021. (Mar 2018)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Dark red with ruby tones. Fascinating nose combines aromas of dark cherry, dried red berries, red licorice, olive and wet earth lifted by a rose petal topnote. Quite juicy and youthfully tight, offering a fine-grained texture and lovely subtle sweetness to its intense flavors of red berries, dusty herbs and cured olive. With its light touch, suave tannins and excellent length, this wine should evolve gracefully and last well--but I'm not sure I would have guessed that it was mostly Cabernet Sauvignon. Stoneridge Vineyard is situated northeast of the Wahluke Slope AVA. According to Brennon Leighton, Stoneridge is brutally hot in August, then cools down quickly in September, with an underwater stream serving to slow vine maturity. This will no longer be a Charles Smith wine in the future, as Smith sold his eponymous brand to Constellation Brands last year. (Oct 2017)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "Powerfully built yet sleekly structured, with savory currant, smoky pepper and herb flavors that build verve and momentum toward polished tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. (Aug 2017)"
