Producer notes: "79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot. Color: Deep, nearly opaque purple-ruby core, lightening to medium at the rim. Aroma: Intense, complex with black cherry, cassis, blackberry jam fruit, rich vanilla, cinnamon and root spice like licorice and sassafras with some sweet tobacco, chocolate and coffee notes layered in. Palate: Full bodied, rich and layered on entry with ripe black fruit, and generous baking spice notes, going to more savory elements of dark cocoa, cedar and herbal notes surrounded by continued ripe sweet black cherry on the mid-palate. The unusually long and complex finish is filled with lingering spice, ripe black fruit and toasted coffee notes matched with firm, grippy tannins and the signature Paso Robles acidity that keep everything fresh and in balance. Showing nicely now, you’ll want to save a few bottles for the years to come as this wine’s structural elements are increasingly matched with the unfolding flavors that only time can give. Barrel aged 24 months in 100% new French oak. Alcohol 14.5%."
