92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Annick and Francis Jourdan make their Croix Boissée Blanc from a couple of hectares of chenin blanc planted in this famous Chinon vineyard. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised in older oak demi-muids. The 2021 version is lovely, showing the cooler fruit personality of the 2021 vintage, despite being nicely ripe at 13.5 percent octane. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a complex blend of lemon, quince, beeswax, chalky soil tones, citrus peel and a topnote of white lilies. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and very soil-driven in personality, with fine depth at the core, bouncy acids, fine focus and grip and a long, chalky and complex finish. This will age very nicely and I would be inclined to tuck it away in the cellar for two or three years and allow its secondary layers of complexity to emerge. Fine juice. 2023-2040+. (Jul/Aug 2023)"
92 points & 'Editors' Choice' Wine Enthusiast: "This rare white Chinon is a chameleon in a glass. The perfumed wine opens with a candied nose of honeycomb, dried apple slice, bruised orange peel, banana, honeydew melon and white-nectarine skin. The wine is surprisingly bone-dry on the palate with an underbelly of tart-green fruit that defies the nose while being supported by a robust core of acidity. A must try. (Dec 2024)"
