"Only the '95 approaches this wine in structure and color," says Jasmin, "but the '99 is more aromatic." Fat, sappy and sweet; dense but with noteworthy verve, thanks to solid acidity. It is medium-bodied, pure, supple-textured, and delicious. If it builds in the bottle, it will merit an even higher score. This is undoubtedly the finest Jasmin Cote Rotie produced in over a decade.
