95 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Falstaff): "The shy nose needs swirling to wake up and then reluctantly gives up notions of red cherry, molten candleswax and stony freshness. More air allows more red-fruited charm to manifest itself. The palate is precise, structured, firm, but also brimful of fruit. A compelling combination that only gains by being absolutley perveaded by brightest freshness. The tannins are firm but of finest silk, the finish is long and promising. Alcohol 13.5%. (3/24/21)"

94 points James Suckling: "Rich and refined, this is an aristocratic wine for Nuits-Saint-Georges. Needs a bit of air to open up, but then the dark cherry and fresh plum are augmented by a rooty touch. Full-bodied, but with lovely delicacy on the silky palate. The finish has so many delicate spice and earth nuances. Drink or hold. (7/22/21)"

91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of cherries, dark chocolate, plums and spices introduce the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots (Domaine Gagey), a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine that's lively and gourmand, with powdery tannins and an enveloping core of fruit. This is another fine success. (Jan 2021)"

91-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A much spicier and more elegant nose is comprised by notes of plum, sandalwood and dark raspberry. The medium weight plus flavors possess a caressing yet powerful mouthfeel where the intensity really builds on the palate coating, muscular and firm finale. As one would reasonably expect, this is built to reward 12 to 15 years of cellaring. One to check out if you're a fan of Boudots. Drink: 2031+. (Apr 2021)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Domaine Gagey. A nicely vibrant nose, some perfume too. An extra sweetness but there’s plenty of structure here too – a layered flavour that’s only modestly framed with fine but not dry tannin. Holding a width of darker-red, cushioned, finishing fruit – delicious here! (Nov 2020)"
