There is outstanding mid-palate density to the less obviously mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess good focus and power on the impressively persistent and beautifully complex finale. Red cherry, stony minerals, rose petal and a suggestion of chocolate mint on the nose; reminded me of a slightly earthier version of a Clos Saint-Jacques. Densely packed, saline and intense, with terrific energy and a restrained sweetness to the flavors of red fruits and minerals. 91-93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Not surprisingly, the Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux-Saint-Jacques is one of the more powerful, inward wines in this series of 2012 Gevrey 1er Crus. Smoke, iron, red fruit and chalk are some of the notes that are alive in the glass. The Lavaux is dense and quite compact, an impression that is reinforced by the firm tannins.
