93-96 points Fine Wine Review: "Jadot’s estate Clos-Vougeot is dark, pure, and mineral in the nose. In the mouth, it is earthy, powerful, and surprisingly racy with black raspberry fruit typical of the vineyard. (Issue #114; 2006)"

93-95 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "Charred meat, black currant, and wet stone characterize the bouquet of Jadot’s 2005 Clos Vougeot. Savory, salty, brightly-fruited and invigoratingly juicy on the palate, this displays more energy and acidity than I would have expected from the appellation. For all of the clarity and juiciness of this wine’s fruit, grilled meat and stony earthiness combined with the emergence of formidable tannins and subtle but persistent cyanic and iodine notes to turn its formidably long finish somewhat austere. But this is going to result in an exciting rendition of its terroir if left in the dark for at least 6-8 years. (Jun 2007)"

94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good full red-ruby. Elegant aromas of black raspberry, black cherry and licorice. Dense, sappy and sweet, with outstanding mid-palate energy for such a smooth wine. Throws off notes of licorice, sandalwood, cola and minerals. Finishes very long and vibrant, with a powerful but integrated tannic structure and convincing minerality. A great vintage for this bottling. (Mar/Apr 2008)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "Pure aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum, with a dense profile and supple texture. Tightly wound now, with red currant and mineral elements that move in on the finish. Should become more elegant with time. Best from 2014 through 2035. 130 cases imported. (5/31/08)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A reserved and notably ripe earth-infused nose of red and dark berry fruit that possess a subtle sauvage character leads to Cistercian caliber youthfully austere flavors that are big, structured, well muscled and powerful and while not raw, it's clear that this will need time to settle down and find their center. This is not an elegant wine but the potential is considerable and I especially like the bold character. A wine that will last 3 to 4 decades. Drink: 2020+. (Apr 2007)"
