97 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$295 list] This wine comes from the northernmost of the Grand Crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. Immense red fruits are as immense as the tannins, both laced with intense, juicy acidity. The wine's richness will be enhanced as it ages. Drink from 2027. Alcohol 13.5%. (Jun 2019)"

96 points James Suckling: "The rose and dried-strawberry aromas with subtle stone, fruit tea and walnut notes are so persuasive in this. Full-bodied, firm and powerful yet very balanced and polished. Shows strength with finesse. Reserved and tight. Give it time to shows its greatness. Try after 2023. (1/25/19)"

93-96 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "(13.2% natural alcohol; 35 hectoliters per hectare produced; this vineyard includes the estate's oldest vines): Bright medium red. Lovely rose petal lift to the vibrant aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, menthol and licorice. Wonderfully rich and sharply delineated; a level above the foregoing wines in creaminess and depth but with pungent minerality giving it a distinctly primary quality and great snap. Classic, youthfully imploded grand cru with a tightly coiled whiplash of a finish and no hard tannins to interfere with the extremely persistent flavors of flowers, mace and minerals. A beauty in the making--and likely to be long-lived. (Jan 2018)"

93-96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Chapelle-Chambertin has a fine texture with dark fruits and minerality. Interestingly, the wine does not have as much tension as the Gevrey-Petite Chapelle from Jadot. (4/12/18)"

95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is showing even better from bottle than it did from barrel, unfurling in the glass with a lovely and expressive bouquet of cherries, dark chocolate, incense and subtle hints of smoky new oak and clove. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and velvety with a deep core of fruit, tangy but ripe acids and a long, penetrating finish. It's a beautifully elegant and direct example of Chapelle-Chambertin, from a parcel planted in 1920-1921 where most of the old vines remain intact. Drink: 2022-2050. (Jan 2019)"

92-95 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from En Gémeaux; these are the oldest vines in the Jadot portfolio of owned vineyards). Moderately strong wood and menthol elements frame the aromas of essence of red cherry, forest floor, rose petal, sauvage and newly turned earth hints. The rich, intense and mineral-inflected broad-shouldered flavors are an exercise in restraint, all wrapped in a balanced, austere and incredibly persistent finish. The old vines are very much apparent as this velvety yet very serious effort displays excellent power and like many of these Gevrey grands crus, is a wine that is not only built-to-age but one that is going to need plenty of it. Drink: 2034+. (Apr 2018)"

94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a crisp red cherry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet with just a touch of tomato vine. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, a fine bead of acidity, a touch of fleshiness towards the finish with hints of white pepper and clove. This is a complex and persistent Grand Cru that will age with style. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2023-2050. (Oct 2019)"
