93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This full, generously textured wine comes from one of the lesser-known of the Beaune premier crus. Its structure and juicy berry fruits are ripe and concentrated, with a smoky touch at the end. Drink from 2024. Alcohol 13.5%. (Oct 2019)"

91-93 points/'Top Value,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A distinctly cool and restrained nose is similar to that of the Theurons with its essence of red currant and spice wisps. There elegant, refined and intensely mineral-suffused medium weight flavors possess outstanding definition along with evident power on the beautifully long finish that is shared by a firm core of fine-grained tannins. Once again at least moderate patience is a must. Drink: 2029+. (Apr 2019)"

92 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Aux Cras is widely recognised as one of the best premiers crus in Beaune, situated in the middle of the slope and producing comparatively long-lived wines. This is rich and profound, with plenty of body, density and backbone, well handled oak and a fresh, chalky finish. Drinking Window: 2024-2030. (Nov 2018)"

92+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Aux Cras (Domaine Gagey) is showing beautifully, unfurling in the glass with an inviting bouquet of sweet red berries, raw cocoa and dried orange rind that's already superbly integrated, albeit still a little shy after its recent bottling. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and supple, with a fleshy core of succulent fruit framed by exquisitely refined tannins. While this is more than charming enough to be approachable young, with a decade or more of bottle age, it will really punch above its weight. (2/13/20)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Beaune Cras 1er Cru has a lovely, almost enveloping bouquet of macerated red cherries, raspberry and hoisin aromas that are perhaps the most expressive of Jadot’s seven Beaunes that I tasted out of barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy, quite generous opening and plenty of red plum, strawberry and light marmalade notes. There is a little sinew to the Beaune Cras, exerting an insistent grip toward the persistent finish. This is another very fine Beaune from Jadot. Drink: 2020-2032. (Jan 2019)"

90-92 points Fine Wine Review: "The Beaune-Cras has intense crushed dark berry fruit with freshness, purity, and very good tension. (2/18/19)"

90 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$76 list] Macerated cherry and strawberry fruit is accented by leafy underbrush notes in this sinewy red. The firm structure sets the pace for the austere finish. Best from 2022 through 2033. 40 cases imported. (3/26/20)"
