91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Beaune Clos des Couchereaux 1er Cru has a sorbet-fresh bouquet, touches of blood orange suffusing the vivacious red fruit. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, gentle grip, slightly darker fruit than the Theurons with a dash of cracked black pepper on the finish. Good potential, but it will require 3-5 years in bottle. Drink: 2026-2042. (Dec 2021)"
89-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Clear bright purple, the nose is on the heady side, lush dark raspberries, plenty of tannins, just about picked in time but it was borderline. I like the fruit which returns at the finish, raspberries infused with some fresh but ripe cherries. Good length. (Nov 2021)"
89-92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "An interesting nose combines notes of various red berries and ripe plum with those of exotic tea and a whiff of orange peel. The seductive, generously proportioned and succulent medium-bodied flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract while the lingering if slightly less complex finish flashes a touch of austerity. Drink: 2028+. (Apr 2022)"
