92 points Tom Hewson (TimAtkin.com): "50% Chardonnay, 25% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Meunier. Based on the 2012 harvest, with 96 months on lees. The DT releases are the same as the regular 700 wines, with extra time on lees. Going back a few years to this 2012 base, there is more precision and detail with an inviting crystallised fruit character, maple wood and spiced apple. It is involved, linear and thought-provoking stuff, with abundant fruit quality. Drink soon after release. (Dec 2022)"
Made from a blend of 3 grands crus and 2 premiers crus, this Cuvée 740 Dégorgement Tardif, after spending 94 months on lees, was disgorged in May 2021. There were only 14,601 bottles produced. The advantage of a late disgorgement is that the wine evolves in an aromatic and gastronomic way, reminiscent of old vintages but while keeping great freshness. This bottling has no dosage. It is made primarily from the the great 2012 vintage and is a very elegant, fine and fresh Champagne with very good aging potential.
