93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The new release of Jean-Marc Sélèque’s “Solessence” Extra Brut Rosé is from the base year of 2021, with reserve wines added from the dedicated solera that Monsieur Sélèque has created for this cuvée. The cépages for the wine is forty-five percent chardonnay, forty percent pinot meunier and fifteen percent pinot noir. The wine takes its lovely, pale salmon color from a combination of light maceration for the pinot meunier and still red wine of pinot noir added to the cuvée. This bottling was disgorged in October of 2023 and finished with a dosage of two grams per liter. It offers up a very elegant bouquet of white peach, casaba melon, brioche, chalky soil tones, delicate meunier floral tones and just a whisper of oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and seamlessly balanced, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent mineral undertow and grip, a fine spine of acidity, refined mousse and excellent precision on the long and classy finish. This is outstanding wine. 2024-2045. (Sep/Oct 2024)"

93 points James Suckling: "Some may consider this an eccentric rosé champagne, but we love the brightness of the red berry and summer flower aromas, then the very pure and precise palate that's super-straight thanks to the mineral acidity. A cuvee of 45% chardonnay, 40% pinot meunier, 15% pinot noir. 40% reserve wines from their perpetual reserve. Bottled unfiltered and unfined. Disgorged in December 2022. Drink or hold. (7/7/23)"

92 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "Disgorged in August 2024 with a dosage of 1.5 grams per liter, this rosé counterpart is likewise anchored in the 2022 vintage. Sélèque’s latest NV Extra-Brut Solessence Rosé includes 5% Pinot Noir red wine from 2020, while 10% of the Pinot Meunier component underwent maceration. The assemblage consists of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier and 15% Pinot Noir, incorporating 40% reserve wines matured in a perpetual reserve. Aromatically expressive, it opens with notes of raspberry, orange peel and brioche. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, ample and demonstrative, with ripe yet vibrant acidity, displaying a rich fruit core and phenolic grip that makes an even more assertive impression than its white counterpart. Drink: 2025-2032. (7/17/25)"

92 points Essi Avellan, MW: "(base 2021; 50% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir). This delicious rosé is built on the 2021 base blend of white Solessance with some added maceration Meunier of Moussy and red Pinot Noir wine of Pierry. The colour is delicate pink and the fresh and subdued nose charms with its delicacy. Its palate is appropriately zesty and juicy with a seductive easiness to it. A beautifully crafted rosé of elegance and friendliness. (Mar 2024)"

92 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The NV Champagne Solessence Rosé Extra Brut pours a bright salmon hue and is made from 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and the rest Pinot Noir, with the base vintage coming from 2020 and the rest from perpetual reserve. A floral and welcoming wine, it lifts with a perfume of fresh roses, croissant dough, fresh peaches, and red raspberry. Medium-bodied and energetic on the palate, it turns more to its chalky and citrus profile on the palate, with notes of grapefruit pith and salty earth. Fully dry, it offers a pinpoint mousse and a crisp, clean lift of bright acidity to close it out with a mouthwatering finish. It’s a snappy style to enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Drink: 2023-2029. (11/17/23)"
