93 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "Entirely Chardonnay from the 2020 harvest blended with wine from their solera in wood casks, the NV Champagne Quintette 5 Terroirs is a bright straw yellow color in the glass and is a touch reductive on opening, eventually revealing notes of lifted flint, toasted baguette, salted lemon, and fresh apples. Zesty and energetic, the palate is very refreshing and bright, with a clean and refined chalky texture, a spritely, coiled mousse, and good length on the finish. It’s an impressive wine from this team to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years. Drink: 2024-2037. (12/20/24)"
92 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "Vinified entirely in barrels—around 10% of which were new—and disgorged in August 2024 with a dosage of two grams per liter, the latest release of Sélèque’s NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Quintette is based on the 2021 vintage. It is complemented by 20% reserve wines aged in foudres and drawn from a solera established in 2012. The nose reveals notes of lemon zest and pear mingling with Madagascar vanilla and cedarwood oil with a hint of nutmeg. On the palate, it is racy and incisive, offering a stylistic counterpoint to the 2022-based NV cuvées. Sourced from old-vine parcels—primarily in Vertus, Épernay, Pierry and Dizy—it is medium-bodied and marked by abundant chalky extract and bright acidity, culminating in a long, saline, subtly oak-inflected finish. Drink: 2025-2034. (7/17/25)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "[$99 list] A harmonious version, with vivid acidity enmeshed in the fine, frothy mousse. Honeysuckle, lime peel and spun honey accent flavors of ripe green apple, chopped almond and brioche. Lively and lingering on the spiced finish. Disgorged August 2024. Drink now through 2030. (12/15/25)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Jean-Marc Sélèque’s “Quintette” cuvée takes its name from the five different terroirs in which he grows his chardonnay grapes for this Blanc de Blancs bottling. The new release is from the base year of 2020, but includes a significant percentage of reserve wines in the blend from the solera Jean-Marc created for this wine several years ago. It was disgorged in September of 2023 and finished with a dosage of two grams per liter this year. The wine offers up a beautifully refined bouquet of pear, golden delicious apple, hazelnut, chalky soil tones, brioche and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is bright, zesty, full-bodied and complex, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent mineral undertow, refined mousse and a fine spine of acidity perking up the long, balanced and very classy finish. This is superb juice. 2024-2050. (Sep/Oct 2024)"
