97 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "What a difference exposure makes. One of two Gran Selezione from the UGA of Radda, Vigna Casanova dell'Aia is similar in elevation to Vigna Istine, and both sit on limestone marls. However, this faces south and boasts a stronger presence of clay. It is deeper in hue, darker in fruit, bolder in structure and richer in texture (all on a relative scale). It is also slower to reveal itself. Nonetheless, dark red cherry and raspberry are palpably pristine. The palate is loaded with irony minerals and tinged with bitter herbs. Chalky tannins present themselves upfront, and sapid, juicy acidity brings mouthwatering relief. A stony finale is endless. Drinking window 2027-2039 (Apr 2025)"
95 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2022 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Casanova dell'Aia is redolent of dried herbs, menthol, sage, tobacco, white pepper, mint and scorched earth. Linear in its contours and yet deep, the Casanova dell'Aia is a super-expressive wine from Radda. In this tasting it is a standout. This site clearly handled the rigors of the growing season well. Bright saline overtones extend the palate-staining, explosive finish. The Casanova dell'Aia is not as immediate as some of the other Gran Seleziones in the range, but it bristles with character. Drink 2026-2034 (Jul 2025)"
94 points Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic.com): "Intriguing with remarkable sensory complexity, it displays notes of black plums, blackberries, sour cherries, ginger, wild thyme, and marjoram. Full body, a soft and enveloping structure, and a composed finish. Best from 2027. (Jul 2025)"
