96 points James Suckling: "This is a round and rather juicy young wine with blackberry, chocolate and grilled meat notes. Full and layered with very fine tannins that are well integrated and a bright finish. Lively at the end. A blend of 35% cabernet sauvignon, 50% merlot and 15% syrah. 50% aged in 20-hectoliter casks. From organically grown grapes. Needs three or four years to come together. (4/24/24)"

96 points Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic.com): "Absolutely solid and focused, it displays notes of black plums, blackberries, juniper berries, black cherries, licorice, dark chocolate, guarana, green tea leaves, eucalyptus, sage, and catmint. Medium-full body, soft tannins, and a finish of great grace and elegance. Best from 2025. (7/29/24)"

95 points Danielle Callegari (Wine Enthusiast): "[$100 list] Intensely savory at first, with topsoil, graphite, leather, then fresh and floral with crushed sage and lavender, before wild cherry and wild strawberry emerge. Black cherry notes are generous and bright on the palate but with deep, brooding earth tones as a contrast. Tannins are refined but with tensile strength, like good armor, and a warm but bracing salinity carries through a long finish. Alcohol 14.5%. (May 2024)"

94 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "An enticing whiff of tobacco, incense and mint gives way to dried black cherries and shavings of dark chocolate as the 2020 Il Borro slowly blossoms in the glass. This flows across the palate with ease, supple and seamlessly silky in texture, showcasing ripe red and black fruits that take on a tactile feel as grippy tannins and minerals mingle toward the close. It finishes structured and potent with dramatic length, leaving a minty resonance and hints of tart blackberry to fade slowly. The hauntingly dark 2020 is built on elegance, yet also displays a sense of refinement and balance that will carry it for many years in the cellar. Drink: 2026-2036. (Mar 2025)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "Though luscious and concentrated, this red is also light on its feet. Flavors of plum, blackberry, boysenberry and fruitcake abound, accented by iron and spice notes, with a hint of wild herbs. Firm tannins line the finish, yet this reveals fine harmony and a lingering aftertaste. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Best from 2025 through 2037. (10/31/24)"
