95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I love the style of the 1985 Vouvrays, as they are not a particularly rich vintage, but the clarity and purity of the wines more than makes up for not having quite the same amplitude as a vintage such as 1989. The ’85 Clos du Bourg Moelleux is a recent re-release from the estate and well worth a search of the marketplace to latch onto, as it is a stunning wine. The beautiful and utterly refined nose offers up a complex mélange of apple, honeycomb, an exotic touch of yellow plum, citrus zest, a hint of straw, chalky soil tones, just a whisper of lanolin and a topnote of orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and zesty, with just a delicate touch of botrytis, excellent focus and balance and a great grip on the very long and crisp finish. This is not a blockbuster vintage of Clos du Bourg Moelleux, but one of stunning intensity of flavor, magical complexity and perfect balance. A beautiful wine. 2010-2060. (Jan/Feb 2011)"
