88-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A vibrant mid purple. Some intensity of fruit but not much detail. For this wine the pepper is evident right at the start. Rather dense, rather backward, curious to know if this is a full snapshot of the wine or just a stage. The tannins are more pronounced behind. Drink from 2026-2032. (Nov 2022)"
91 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The first note is a light reduction that should pass with racking; behind the reduction is an attractive, high-toned fruit character with lively cranberry and pomegranate aromas. The texture is firm and just slightly lean. One hopes that this will open more with time. It is produced from 0.78 hectares in the lieu-dit Bas Maizières near van Canneyt’s parcel of Suchots. This wine is a classic introduction to village-level Vosne-Romanée. Drinking Window: 2027-2045. (10/31/22)"
89-91 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village offer up aromas of plums, sweet red berries, orange zest and smoked tea, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy palate with good depth at the core and powdery structuring tannins. (1/31/23)"
88-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A more deeply pitched nose offers up overtly spicy notes of plum, dark berries and cool floral nuances. The succulent, round and delicious medium-bodied flavors possess better mid-palate density if not quite the same refinement on the lingering and balanced finish that could use a bit more depth. Drink: 2028+. (Jan 2023)"
90+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Vosne-Romanée AC from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is quite black fruity in personality this year, offering up a lovely bouquet of black raspberries, black cherries, espresso, woodsmoke, dark soil tones, Vosne spices and a touch of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, balanced and soil-driven, with lovely depth in the mid-palate, fine-grained tannins and impressive length and grip on the complex finish. Another excellent village wine which certainly is not suffering from a bit of Malconsorts in the blend this year! 2030-2065. (Nov/Dec 2022)"
89-90 points/'Very Good,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Vosne and Chambolle villages are equally built and evenly matched. The lightness of the fruit is a treat, and so is the energy. Rather, it’s a treat for the classically minded collector, not for the points hoarder. Drink from 2028. (7/19/22)"
88-90 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village is clean and precise on the nose with black cherry and raspberry fruit, fine focus and just a touch of violet petal coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite sapid and almost Morey-like with a touch of black olive on the structured finish. Good potential, but this may require longer in bottle than its peers. Drink: 2025-2037. (Jan 2023)"
