On the palate this is beautifully balanced with notable inner-depth and a beautifully fresh, mineral-laced core. It continues to impress with its outstanding concentration and focus through the long, pretty finish. Overall, the 2016 'Aux Murgers' shows wonderful promise and looks to be a total success in this vintage."

The bouquet soars from the glass in a superb blend of black plums, black cherries, a touch of nutskin, a complex base of soil, pigeon, woodsmoke and a whisper of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very elegant for a young Nuits, with a sappy core, excellent transparency, suave, seamless tannins and a very long, poised and classy finish.
