91 points James Suckling: "Attractive nose of blackberries, kirsch and hints of dried flowers and walnuts. Full and well-structured with ripe yet lightly chewy tannins and deep, succulent fruit underneath. Intense, bitter-spice finish. Try from 2027. (3/18/25)"
90 points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "[$60 list] Honig's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers notes of cedar, loam, black cherries and dried spices. Matured in a combination of French and American oak, it's full-bodied, silky-velvety in texture and softly tannic, with ample length and texture on the finish, which reveals a subtle hint of raisined fruit. Don't expect it to age much past a decade from the vintage, so enjoy this fine value while it's young. Drink: 2025-2032. (10/2/25)"
Producer notes: "92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc, 0.5% Petit Sirah. The fruit for this wine comes from both our sustainably farmed vineyard in Rutherford, and from local vineyards. Each vineyard block was harvested and made into an individual lot representing that block. The wines were pressed off the skins from 10 to 35 days after crushing. Ripe blackberry fruit characters are complemented by cherry and cassis on the finish. Spice and vanilla notes are seamlessly interwoven through the wine. A rich midpalate leads to a lovely lingering finish with just the right of acid and tannin to keep the wine in perfect balance. While enjoyable upon release, this wine will age gracefully through 2032 and beyond."
