92-93 points/'Fine+,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "This has only 50% whole-cluster grapes, but the terroir gives the wine another level of liveliness. From the area below Mazis-Chambertin, this is classic, with lively, vivid fruit accompanied by the terroir lift. The fruit is delicate, and supported by bright mineral notes. Drink from 2033. (6/17/22)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .35 ha parcel). An overtly floral and quite spicy array of black cherry, earth and warm earth leads to seductive, delicious and caressing medium-bodied flavors that possess ample punch that carries over to the bitter pit fruit and austere finish. This is unusually powerful for La Perrière and should age accordingly. Drink: 2032+. (Jan 2022)"

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "50% whole bunch vinification. More in finesse naturally here, so less whole bunch. Crimson-purple colour, indeed the nose does show some finesse here. A little darker fruit, a little pepper. Strawberry to the fore, a little warmer at the back, not quite together at the moment (or in this sample). Still good but less compelling than their best wines today. (Dec 2021)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin La Perrière 1er Cru takes its time to open on the nose, but it is well worth waiting for as it offers vibrant blackberry and raspberry fruit, undergrowth and light oyster shell scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, smooth in terms of mouthfeel with a gentle grip towards the finish, where if I am to quibble, just needs a little more complexity. But this should still age well in bottle. Drink: 2024-2039. (Dec 2021)"
