88 points Mark Squires (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Raio de Luz is a Douro field blend from old vines aged for 12 months in used French vats. It comes in at 13.2% alcohol. Despite its lighter-styled presentation, it feels sturdy. More obviously, it's fresh. It adds a little bit of an earthy nuance and some bite on the finish. This is a wine made to drink relatively young, but it succeeds and it may well hold reasonably well. This is only the second vintage of it I've seen, so we'll eventually see what happens if you hold it. You don't have to, though, as it drinks decently now. You could certainly spend more and get less. (6/30/23)"

17/20 points Julia Harding, MW (JancisRobinson.com): "Full bottle 1,281. Front label says 'inspired by Rocim'. Schist soils. Old vineyards from the three subregions. 'Freshness from Baixo Corgo, complexity from Cima Corgo and power from Douro Superior.' Fermented in granite lagar and aged 16 months in French oak vats. TA 6 g/l, pH 3.59. Deeply coloured with some purple at the rim. Smells somehow ripe but not sweet because the fruit character is so dark. The rocky savour of the Douro shines through. Dry chewy tannins become drier and finer on the finish, giving an unusual combination on the finish of fruit and stony/minerality. Elegantly dry, long aftertaste, the oak perfectly in the background. Drinking Window: 2023-2031. (7/6/23)"
