The Goldtröpfchen Spätlese, as it is referred to on the consumer label (the vintage is written on the neck label), was made from fruit picked at 90° Oechsle and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar (69 g/l). It presents a beautifully primary and still slightly reductive nose of smoke, minty herbs, white peach, prune, jasmine, lavender, and violet. The wine has a superb richness of fruits on the palate and the kick of acidity is already well integrated into the sweetness, even though the finish is focused and very pure. The after-taste has a racier side, yet the zest proves ripe and animating. This is a great drinking Spätlese with zest and freshness. 2029-2041. (Dec 2022)"
