94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Brauneberger Juffer Spätlese AP #5 from Weingut Fritz Haag is an absolutely classical and filigreed example of this Prädikat level, soaring from the glass in a combination of white cherry, pear, cress, mint, slate, bee pollen, violets and lilacs. On the palate the wine is bright, pure, medium-full and flat out delicious, with beautiful acidity and mineral foundation, zesty acids and great focus and grip on the complex finish. This is certainly drinkable today, but there is much more here below the surface that will arise if given some bottle age! The technical details for those keeping score at home are: eight percent alcohol, 8.3 grams of acid and 71 grams per liter of sugar. Great juice. 2022-2065+. (Jan/Feb 2022)"

94 points Mosel Fine Wines: "The 2020er Juffer Riesling Spätlese, as it is referred to on the consumer label, offers a gorgeous and beautifully attractive nose of candied grapefruit, orange, fine apricot, almond cream, bergamot, smoke, Conference pear, and herbs, as well as a fine bakery touch from its spontaneous fermentation. The wine is still on the richer side of life at this early stage but already shows great balance and finesse in the smooth yet very animating and filigreed finish. The aftertaste is very precise, sappy, and hugely long. This is a great Spätlese in the making! 2030-2050. (Sep 2021)"

93 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Very attractive, juicy wine with so much ripe melon, plus hints of lemon zest and pie crust. Long and elegant with beautifully integrated natural-grape sweetness. Drink or hold. (8/4/21)"
