98 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese #12 (Gold Capsule) is concentrated and fresh, with candied grapefruit aromas on the citric nose. This is a dense, textured, beautifully lush, refined, racy-piquant and highly stimulating Auslese in the most delicate (and delicious) way. This is richness balanced on a tightrope! There is so much tension, finesse and sensuality here but also concentration, density and expression. This is a fulminant, highly finessed and delicate Auslese that was picked with the regular Spätlese and the Auslese #10 but contains the botrytized grapes (although the botrytis part of the berries is only 30% to 40%). Tasted in March and April 2019. Drink: 2020-2060. (Jun 2019)"

97 points Mosel Fine Wines: "Besides a possible auction lot, Weingut Fritz Haag produces two separate bottlings of Juffer-Sonnenuhr Auslese GK which carry the AP09 and AP12 (#12 on the label) in most vintages, whereby the AP 12 sees a little bit more botrytis. The 2017er Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Auslese GK #12 was harvested at a full 127° Oechsle, i.e. technically at BA levels. It only gradually reveals its beautiful and multi-layered nose made of white flowers, anise, coconut cream, vineyard peach, and orange blossom. Ripe flavors of exotic fruits mingle with honey and smoke on the impressively compact palate. The finish is outstandingly long and refined. This is a stunner of an Auslese in the making. What a wine! 2032-2067. (Oct 2018)"

95 points Wine Spectator: "[$56/375ml list] Floral and seductive, with the palate unfolding layer after layer as different details keep emerging. Concentrated but not overpowering, eloquently keeping you intrigued. The dragon fruit, lychee and honey flavors are perfectly balanced, showing plenty of spice and mineral details. A beautiful expression of the sweeter side of the Mosel. Drink now through 2042. 100 cases made. (2/28/19)"

94 points David Schildknecht (Vinous): "This bottling reflects more botrytis concentration than exhibited by its A.P. #9 counterpart. White raisin, caramel and marzipan are signaled on the nose – along with mirabelle and quince preserves – and are reinforced on the palate by high residual sugar and a load of glycerol. This sumptuous elixir definitely tends toward the confectionary, but fortunately without its sense of sweetness getting at all out of hand. As with the A.P. #9, the finish here combines surging intensity and buoyancy, albeit without quite that bottling’s clarity or multilayered persistence. Drink: 2020-2048. (Apr 2020)"
