94-96 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Vinous): "The 2023 Riesling Altenbamberger Rotenberg Grosses Gewächs grows up to 350 meters on Permian rhyolite, made in both Halbstück and stainless steel. A gentle creaminess almost sends a note of hazelnut that blends beautifully with iron oxide and stone. The palate has a slender, balm-like nature, soothing, cool, yet spicy, delving into immense depths of stone. Gentle apricot shimmers around the edges. The 2023 is exquisite, calm, quiet and stony. (Bone-dry) Drink: 2028-2060. (Sep 2024)"

95 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "This is such a classic mountain wine with all the freshness that implies, also the delicate yet expressive aromas that I associate with this unofficial category. Super citrusy juiciness and freshness on the very focused medium-bodied palate. Then the purity of a mountain stream in the super-clean and brilliant finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink from release. (7/31/24)"

93 points Ulrich Sautter (Falstaff): "Citrus fruits, beeswax and gingerbread on the nose, also plum and peach. On the palate, the wine has a lot of tension and good density, a layer of phenolics carries onto the finish, which is clearly terpene-influenced, but is still aromatically closed at the moment. Alcohol 12.5%. (11/11/24)"
