96 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "Now approaching thirty years of age, this vintage has an incredible red-gold hue in the glass, deeply burnished, and the aromatic profile reflects this appearance. There are scents of dark, roasted and toasted nuts, along with oranges swirled in caramelised and baked vanilla, clearly very bold and confident. There is a hint of oxidation swirling around, but it is quiet, very much in the background, a warning sign rather than a detriment. Bold, bitter and gripped on the palate, which like the nose is brimming with complexity, with caramelised oranges, coffee bean, tea leaf, liquorice and black bean, thankfully lifted up by plenty of acid freshness, and great grip and substance. A wine of polish but also energy, a foil for the caramel and vanilla texture. This is drinking great now, so I would not hold off. Drink now, or drink soon. (Sep 2019)"

93+ points Richard Jennings: "Light medium apricot color; tart apricot, almond, mandarin orange, baked pear nose; tasty, ripe apricot, mandarin orange, orange syrup palate, ready for business now; long finish. (11/17/10)"
