93 points/'5 Star Wine,' Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Bottled February, 100-year-old vines on blue marl. Picked 11th September, and aged for one year in demi muid before racking. Very pale in colour. No detail on the nose yet but a suggestion of latent intensity. All in white fruit, beautifully balanced with salinity at the finish and superb length. A really beautiful expression. Just the right amount of tension. Give this a year minimum and it should age gracefully thereafter. Drink from 2027-2035. Tasted Jun 2025."
92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Viré-Clessé Charleston comes from century-old vines on blue marl, matured in used demi-muid for a year then six months in tank. This has a more neutral bouquet with apple blossom, slate and flinty scents coming through with time. The palate is quite voluminous in the mouth with ample salinity and tension, a dash of white pepper towards the harmonious finish. This has just the right amount of bitterness to urge you back for more. Drink: 2025-2036. (Aug 2025)"
