97 points Wine Spectator: "[$300 list] Smelling like a raspberry and Port reduction, this manages to let an enormous core of bittersweet chocolate, plum compote, chocolate ganache and exotic spice flavors glide across the palate. Its obvious muscularity strides in on the finish and the flavors echo almost endlessly. Needs time though. Best from 2006 through 2030. 400 cases made. (7/31/04)"

96 points (18/20) La Revue du Vin de France (Jan 2005).

94-96 points Neal Martin (Wine Journal): "Now this is a great success, my favorite of the three La-La 2000's. A lifted nose of blueberry, melted tar, cassis, dark chocolate and what I call "mahogany bureau". Very complex. The palate just has a gorgeous purity and balance with swathes of blackberry, spice, dates and a little prune. Very focused and extravagant with great length. Mighty impressed. Tasted May 2006. Drink: 2004-2019."

92-95 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Solid bright ruby. Tight aromas of cherry, licorice, leather and mocha. Sweeter and more pliant today than La Mouline, with a rather suave texture and noteworthy elegance. But still a powerful wine with an almost medicinal impression of austerity. Finishes with substantial toothcoating tannins. This is 13.2% alcohol without chaptalization. (Jan/Feb 2002)"

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Very young and almost jammy, the 2000 E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque shows lots of classy oak and vanilla that haven’t integrated with the earthy, cassis slanted fruit. Medium to full bodied, this is balanced, rich and long. (4/23/08)"

93 points Robert Parker: "The medium to full-bodied 2000 Cote Rotie La Turque (which includes 7% Viognier) offers notes of espresso, Chinese black tea, plum, fig, and black currant fruit. It is undeniably a top success for this somewhat challenging vintage. It is already drinking well, and should age nicely for 12-15 years. (Dec 2004)"
