(91-93) points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2024 Saint-Véran Cuvée Unique, which attained an impressive 13.4% natural alcohol, bursts with reductive aromas of pear, flowers, peach and iodine, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, satiny and seamless palate that's layered and succulent. There's a real sense of depth and maturity here, which should make for very graceful evolution in the cellar. (Jan 2026)"
This wine comes from three plots very close to Vergisson, in the Saint-Veran appellation. Accordingly, the soils here are also very chalky, but the location is slightly lower, so the grapes ripen a little earlier. South, west, and north exposure. Only the free-run juice is used. The nose is delightful with incredibly fine reduction, lots of flint, lemon zest, lemongrass. The wine runs straight ahead, lke a laser beam! Everything is coated in chalk. This is certainly the greatest wine from Saint-Veran. Absolutely brilliant.
