The nose is a little richer with the expected plum notes, integrating its oak very well, and with a suavity which suggests the proximity of Vosne. This wine shows dark plum fruit, with lots of depth and a lovely, silky texture; this is rich and warm. The fruit is destemmed, but only the large central stem; the rest is left whole to macerate briefly, before a fermentation that will always include an element of carbonic maceration in these whole berries. 90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Lavières is initially tight on the nose, opening slowly to offer black cherries, blueberry and clementine peel. The palate is medium-bodied with a mixture of red and black fruit, and refreshingly saline in the mouth, particularly on the oyster-shell-tinged finish. Plenty of energy here, even if it’s not the best Grivot Nuits Saint-Georges this vintage. Drink: 2024-2040. (Dec 2020)"
