97 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "With its ripe, deep, plummy fruit, floral notes and abundant spice accents, the 2022 Echézeaux from Grivot is among the top wines in this cellar. The texture is rich and velvety; the finish stretches on for minutes. The grapes are from a 0.84-hectare parcel in Cruots planted in 1954. Grivot destems the grapes and ferments gently, with more pumping exclusively after the beginning of fermentation. This vintage will begin to open in five to seven years and should drink well for at least another 30. Drinking Window: 2030-2065. (11/2/23)"

97 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Intense and earthy, with a velvety texture and restrained power, Echezeaux overflows with a myriad of delicate, energetic flavors, with notes of smoke and citrus peel. (2025)"

95-97 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a vivid, bright bouquet with perfumed, very floral red berry fruit and touches of white flowers filtering through with time in the glass. Quite classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, slightly tarry black and red fruit, hints of black pepper and graphite towards a complex, engaging finish. Superb. Drink: 2028-2050. (Jan 2024)"

96 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$700 list] Well marked by toasty oak and vanilla aromas and flavors, this red also features cherry, blackberry, raspberry, earth and iron notes. It's dense and robust, with a sense of elegance, fine purity, balance and length, yet there is a feeling that this has more to give with some evolution in the bottle. Best from 2029 through 2047. 65 cases imported. (4/2/25)"

93-96 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Les Cruots which is also known as Vignes Blanches). A ripe yet cool nose combines a plethora of spice and floral elements with those of plum, exotic tea and dark currant. The moderately dense and caressing medium weight flavors display focused power on the hugely long, balanced and strikingly complex finale. This is a seriously good Ech with the development potential to match. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"

95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This charming wine's scintillating aromatics start with garrigue then move on to sweet strawberries, crunchy red plums and tingly red currants. Fresh acidity spirals up the palate, nicely balancing the broad and full-ish palate. Svelte tannins gently fade on the solid finish. (Jan 2024)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Mid purple colour. An intriguing nose, almost something vegetal. A rougher edge to the fruit in the mouth, from the barrel. Rich sweet strawberry fruit in between. From another barrel, softer, a little more volume, and some gas as this barrel had not been sampled for a while. In short, the Echezeaux was in a slightly grumpy mood and may very well improve on this performance after further elevage. (Nov 2023)"
