96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Warm, lush, and tannic, this wine shows an intensely ripe, plummy fruit aroma with notes of smoke and spice and impressive depth and length. It is the best Clos Vougeot I can recall having from this domaine. The Grivot family has a large parcel (1.86 hectares) at the base of the slope, which is not a highly regarded position in the Clos. Mathilde, however, has made exemplary work of it here. The carefully sorted grapes were destemmed and gently punched down during the fermentation on native yeasts. Drinking Window: 2025-2050. (11/2/23)"
96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Superb floral and spicy nose, patinated flesh with a finely saline grain and very polished tannins in this very deep Clos de Vougeot, which unfolds slowly, intense and earthy, with velvety texture and restrained power. (2025)"
94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a refined and harmonious bouquet with red berry fruit, wild hedgerow and light oyster shell notes, ameliorating all the time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a mixture of red and black fruit, truffle and black pepper. It's quite complex and very long on the finish. Superb. Drink: 2027-2048. (Jan 2024)"
95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$580 list] A supple, elegant red, this features cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, mineral and spice aromas and flavors. Though it starts on the gentle side, this gains momentum and intensity, with a strong and persistent aftertaste. It's tannins are beautifully integrated and supportive. Best from 2029 through 2047. 150 cases imported. (4/2/25)"
93-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Mid red crimson. The barrel gives a slightly firm note to the fruit on the nose. There is a weight of red fruit beneath though this is rather reserved and only at the finish does the fruit come back. No black fruit notes at all. In reserve and slightly saline. (Nov 2023)"
93-95 points/'Sweet spot,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(50+ year old vines located in the lower section of the Clos). Here a more restrained nose somewhat grudgingly offers up an array of pretty red berry scents that are trimmed in notes of earth, wood and a suggestion of smoked game. The delicious and vibrant larger-bodied flavors are both more powerful and more concentration though they don't have the refinement or sophistication of the Reignots on the beautifully long and more complex finale where the only nit is a touch of warmth. At last moderate patience strongly advised. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"
