97 points James Suckling: "This red shows lots of redcurrants and fresh flowers on the nose. It’s full-bodied with juicy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Needs three or four years to resolve some of the tannins. Beautiful cabernet character, but already a joy to taste. (2/13/17)"

95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2014 Grand-Puy Lacoste has a bouquet with blackberry, boysenberry, mint and graphite, well defined and focused. It does not have to try too hard to give so much pleasure. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very crisp acidity, beautifully proportioned with a veneer of top quality new oak that will need three or four years to be fully subsumed. But the purity and elegance of this Pauillac cannot be denied – a quite brilliant contribution to the 2014 vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting. Drink: 2022-2050. (Mar 2018)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "A sleek, graphite-fueled version, with ample cassis and black cherry fruit racing along, picking up light tobacco, anise and bramble notes along the way. The fruit is vivid, presenting pleasant coiled-up energy. Should age nicely. Best from 2020 through 2030. (3/31/17)"

93 points Richard Jennings: "Very dark ruby color; aromatic, cassis, cedar, plum nose; plush, tight, plum, cassis, cedar, vanilla palate with good balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc; 16-18 months in oak, 75% new). (1/27/17)"

93 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "I see lots of youthful character here, a nose of perfumed red cherry, redcurrant, peony and limestone dust, all wrapped in a very fine sheen of oak. There follows a very complete start to the palate, very elegant and poised, fresh and taut, with a tightly wrapped blanket of fruit. It moves through the flavours of aromatic red cherry, damson and a matchsticky liquorice twist, all passed over elegantly defined and almost seamless tannins. A very complete style, very true to the Grand-Puy-Lacoste style, demonstrating delightfully seamless elegance and a long, poised and integrated finish. Very good. (Nov 2018)"
