93-96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Saint-Georges is stony and mineral in the nose. The mouth has dark plums and the finesse of Les Saint-Georges, and it also has firmness and length. It should be an outstanding representative of the vineyard. (2/21/16)"

95+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 Les St. Georges chez Gouges is far more reserved in profile this year than any of the other premier crus, but it too shows off the profound elegance of the vintage and will be a great wine in the fullness of time. The utterly classic nose wafts from the glass in a blend of sweet dark berries, cassis, graphite, complex minerality, espresso, a touch of new oak and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a fine, soil-driven personality, excellent purity and focus and a very long, ripely tannic and youthful finish. 2025-2075. (Nov/Dec 2015)"

95 points Tim Atkin, MW: "It may or may not be promoted to Grand Cru status, but this is one of the three best vineyards in the village and this interpretation, from a 1.08 hectare parcel, is superb. Fine, focused and well balanced with racy acidity, sweet red fruits and polished tannins. 2020-20. (2016)"

94 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.1 ha parcel of 55+ year old vines). Once again there is subtle wood present on the spicy, cool and beautifully well-layered and slightly more elegant nose of ripe dark currant, plum, violet and humus scents that also reflect a note of herbal tea. There is a sleek mouth feel to the solidly concentrated and mineral-driven middle weight plus flavors that exhibit outstanding length on the markedly firm finale that is also impeccably well-balanced. Ample patience is once again advised. Highly recommended. Drink: 2026+. (Jan 2017)"

93+ points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "[$185 list] Medium red. Reticent but complex nose offers high-pitched scents of raspberry, licorice, bitter chocolate and minerals. At once dense and juicy, displaying a distinctly sappy character but also a refined texture to its intense raspberry, spice, mineral and soil flavors. This very classy wine mounts slowly on the suavely tannic, vibrant finish. Beautifully balanced already but there's more to come with bottle age. From a crop level of just 26 hectoliters per hectare, according to Gregory Gouges, who noted that these 50-year-old vines always produce a light load of grapes. I'd love to taste this wine next to its 2015 sibling in about ten years. Drink: 2023-2034. (Mar 2017)"
