94 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Concentrated youthful purple. This was picked in good time with an excellent sense of energy, a deeply concentrated but still fresh fruit. There is massive weight on the palate here, showing the darker fruit of Nuits-St-Georges, yet continuing through to a fine and balanced finish. With the weight of the 2019 vintage this delivers a very classical powerful Nuits. (Nov 2023)"

94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Very intense and ripe, the smooth fruit of Clos des Porrets is enveloped in big, fleshy tannins. It's still a little compact and needs ageing. (2022)"

93-94 points/'Very Fine,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "There are two cuvées from Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges: This is the regular cuvée made with destemmed grapes. The other, Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges Cuvee Hors d’Âge, is vinified with 60% whole-cluster grapes (see below). This cuvee is showing some heat, but still with Nordic freshness and liveliness. With its destemmed fruit and 2019 lift, I find it to be a close race with the special old-vine cuvee that, due to the older raw material, should have the edge. This is an intriguing wine. Drink from 2032. (7/8/20)"

93 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$119 list] Graphite, black cherry, blackberry and baking spices are the hallmarks of this opulent red, which is backed by a spine of dusty tannins that leave a tactile feel on the long finish. Best from 2024 through 2040. 20 cases imported. (2/28/22)"

93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Porrets-Saint-Georges 1er Cru is very perfumed and quite floral on the nose. Rose petal and iris infuse the red berry fruit, as just a background scent of graphite emerges with time. I am initially smitten by this, though it seems to fade in the glass, sadly. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins. There’s a lovely core of red fruit here, leaning toward Vosne-Romanée in style with a lavish yet controlled, peppery finish that lingers. This is a very well-crafted and delicious wine. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2026-2048. (Dec 2023)"

92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Domaine Gouges’ 2019 Clos des Porrets is an excellent bottle. The bouquet is deep, precise and classic in profile, wafting from the glass in a mix of cassis, dark berries, grilled venison, coffee bean, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and just a touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with broad shoulders, fine focus and grip, good soil signature and a long, chewy and ripely tannic finish. Good juice. 2033-2085. (Jan/Feb 2022)"
